BEIRUT (AFP) – Opposition-controlled parts of Syria’s battered northern city of Aleppo are now completely besieged, a monitor said Sunday, after government forces cut the last rebel supply route.

“Regime fighters are now on the Castello Road and have officially cut it,” said Rami Abdel Rahman, head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

“The eastern neighbourhoods are now completely besieged,” he told AFP.
