BRUSSELS (AP) – The Russian airstrike on a children’s and maternity hospital in the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol is the latest in a series of attacks that have gutted apartment buildings and killed people in their homes or simply going about their business.

The archbishop of Aleppo lamented Wednesday that the Syrian people have been forgotten on the global scale and now feel completely on their own.

The U.S. military on Sunday launched deadly airstrikes against al-Qaeda-linked militants in Syria, marking the first time in two years that American troops have targeted members affiliated with the international terrorist organization, which now controls more territory than any other jihadi group in the war-ravaged country.

TEL AVIV –  At least seven Iran-affiliated militia fighters are said to have been killed in an airstrike attributed to Israel on an Iranian base near the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Thursday.
