Why Is Ron Paul Defending Al Qaeda? Time For Him To Retire

In the presidential debate last night, Ron Paul parroted the Al Qaeda line about why they are at war with us. The “real motivation” for their attacks was the American “occupation” of the Middle East, explained the Texas Congressman. In other words, 9/11 is our fault.

Let’s just leave ’em alone, and they will play nice

Tyrants throughout history have sought to portray their attacks, terror, and aggression as a “defensive act.” Hitler justified both the invasion of Czechoslovakia and of Poland on the grounds that German minorities there were being “oppressed.” He just had to do it to protect people! Stalin justified the domination of Eastern Europe because “counterrevolutionaries” there allegedly posed a “threat” to the Soviet Union. How can Ron Paul be so naive as to accept and echo what Bin Laden says? He’s done great work fighting for free markets. But c’mon. This man needs to retire.
