Bombs Over Tehran?

Remember that line in Tombstone? Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) said, “You called down the thunder. Well now you got it!” It may be of some benefit for the Tehran regime to Netflix that Western action/drama because the world, as they are soon to learn, can be a punishing place. Western democracies, and it can certainly be said for the US, have shown little patience for emerging powers seeking to upset the international system. Iran’s “Islamic Third Way” has done nothing for its country or people. Its reckless pursuit of offensive realism has put it directly up against the international system and the governing world powers.

Possible routes of attack on Iran by U.S. and UK military

Uh-oh

Something tells me that Iran will be shocked at the bill to be paid for its coming-out party.

The UK and U.S. are drawing up plans to attack Iran amid growing tensions in the Middle East, it was claimed last night.

Barack Obama and David Cameron are preparing for war after reports that Iran now has enough enriched uranium for four nuclear weapons.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s hardline regime in Tehran has been linked to three assassination plots on foreign soil, according to senior officials in Whitehall (Daily Mail)

Diplomacy has been tried and failed at every turn. It has been the West that has explored every peaceful option to convince Iran to give up its nuclear weapons, modernize its system, and embrace the world community. All efforts have been fruitless and it is because Iran refused to cooperate. Diplomacy requires communication and, at least, some agreement on the ends — if not the means. In other words, it takes two sides to make diplomacy work. It is unfortunate for Iran that it only takes one side to decide to drop a bunch of bombs.

Don’t forget Israel in all of this.
