Report: Brennan Negotiated to Establish Secret Drone Base in Saudi Arabia

The nomination of John Brennan for Director of the CIA has uncovered that the Obama administration, after ostensibly withdrawing from Saudi Arabia to pacify Muslim outrage, still has a secret base in the country from which it operates drones.

The base was set up two years ago.

This news will not only add to the attention Obama’s “targeted-killing program” has been receiving but will also raise the stakes in Brennan’s confirmation hearings.

Compounding this revelation is the Feb. 5th news of a DOJ “white paper” that sets forth the administration’s case for killing American citizens abroad should those Americans have operational ties to Al Qaeda.

When Brennan’s confirmation hearings begin on Thursday, he will need to be prepared to discuss the secret drone base in Saudi Arabia. Lawmakers already know he played a “key role in negotiations” for it.

The Washington Post is reporting that the location of the base of has been known for a year, but news agencies kept it under wraps until now.
