Moms Demand Action Founder: School Lockdown Involving No Gun Justifies More Gun Control

On October 2, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America founder Shannon Watts called for more gun control because of recent school lockdowns in Michigan and New Hampshire, among other things.

However, WZZM13 reports there was no gun involved in the lockdown in Michigan, and CBS Boston reports that the one in New Hampshire involved an “authentic looking pellet gun.”

Watts also referenced a school lockdown in Seattle, but KIROTV reports it was not over an individual with a gun in a school but an individual outside a school trying to lure children into his car. In this case a well-armed mother or father could have protected their child.

Yet Watts used her Huffington Post blog to call for more gun control to address “recent school lockdowns” like these.

On August 2nd, Breitbart News reported that Moms Demand Action wanted to “educate women” to oppose Second Amendment rights. For her part, Watts is currently “crisscrossing the country” to try to get women to vote for gun control candidates in November.
