Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards is telling supporters of her abortion business that Hillary Clinton’s 2016 race for the White House “is the big one.”

“This is sort of the pinnacle of everything we’ve fought for all our lives,” she said while campaigning in Wisconsin for Hillary Clinton before the the Wisconsin primary on Tuesday.

Richards added that Clinton “is a woman who has been standing for women her entire life,” reports

Phrases such as “for women” and “women’s healthcare” are often used by the abortion industry as euphemisms for their primary service.

For the first time in its history, Planned Parenthood — along with its other establishment abortion industry allies such as NARAL — has endorsed a primary candidate.

The abortion lobby has been on the defensive since a series of videos was released last summer that exposed Planned Parenthood’s apparent practices of selling the body parts of babies it aborts on the open market and altering the position of babies during abortions in order to harvest the most intact organs.

In addition, many states have passed late-term abortion bans, safety laws that require abortion clinics to maintain the same level of health and safety standards as other outpatient surgery facilities, and mandatory ultrasounds as part of informed consent prior to an abortion. The abortion industry opposes all of these measures.

Speaking in Madison, Richards observed the successes of the pro-life movement this year – which she often refers to as attacks against women’s health. She also distinguished Clinton from her rival Bernie Sanders – who is also pro-abortion. Clinton, she said, is a leader on abortion as a woman’s constitutional right, rather than someone who “says the right things and votes the right way.”

Richards added that Clinton would be more in keeping with the leadership of President Barack Obama who vetoed a bill that would have defunded her abortion business.

“That’s the difference between leadership and raising your hand and saying ‘Aye,'” Richards said.

On Sunday, Clinton appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press, and told host Chuck Todd that “the unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights.” Clinton said:

The unborn person doesn’t have constitutional rights. Now, that doesn’t mean that we don’t do everything we possibly can in the vast majority of instances to, you know, help a mother who is carrying a child and wants to make sure that child will be healthy, to have appropriate medical support. It doesn’t mean that, you know, don’t do everything possible to try to fulfill your obligations. But it does not include sacrificing the woman’s right to make decisions. And I think that’s an important distinction that under Roe v. Wade we’ve had refined under our Constitution.

According to, Richards said Clinton is the most qualified presidential candidate the country has seen in decades. She also repeated Republican contender Donald Trump’s remarks this past week during an interview in which he said that if abortion were ever made illegal, women who had them could receive some form of punishment. Though the Trump campaign later clarified his statement to indicate any punishment would be for abortionists – and not women – both Clinton and the abortion lobby groups have seized upon his earlier comments as representative of the entire Republican Party.

“I actually think what Donald Trump said about punishing women was very important,” Richards said. “And it’s because it has, frankly, pulled the curtain back on the real agenda of the people who are running for president of the United States in the Republican Party.”

“I feel like Donald Trump has now kind of opened this Pandora’s box, and they’re going to have to own it in this election,” Richards added. “And I can tell you, there’s not a daylight of difference between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz and John Kasich, and the world needs to know it.”
