Two officers were shot in Henry County, Georgia, Thursday morning and the shooting suspect is barricaded in a house and allegedly has a hostage.

The Atlanta Constitution-Journal reports that the officers went to the home on a disturbance call and the suspect opened fire as soon as they entered. Henry County police Capt. Joey Smith noted that first officer was shot in the hand and was able to grab the second officer, who was wounded more severely, and get him out of the house.

The shooting suspect is believed to be holding a 16-year-old male hostage.

WSB-TV’s Greg Lucie reports that the suspect is now communicating with negotiators:

Both officers are expected to recover.
