A Morning Consult poll released on Monday revealed 2020 presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has lost support from many of America’s young voters.
The survey found Sanders’ support from young voters, ages 18-29, had declined 12 percentage points, falling from 45 percent in March to 33 percent in May.
The poll also found Sanders to be “more popular” with Fox News viewers than MSNBC viewers. Asked to select their first choice for the nomination, 22 percent of Fox News viewers selected Sanders while only 16 percent of MSNBC viewers made the same selection.
According to the poll, Biden leads the Democratic field with 39 percent support from Democratic primary voters. Sanders trails Biden with 19 percent support, followed by Sens. Elizabeth Warren (MA) and Kamala Harris (CA), who have both garnered eight percent support from Democratic primary voters.
The Morning Consult online survey of 15,342 likely registered Democratic primary voters was conducted between May 6 and May 12 and has a margin of error of +/- 1%.
