Nike made a huge merchandising gaffe when the company put up for sale Carolina Panthers t-shirts with the team’s logo on the state of South Carolina. The letters “NC” also appear on the shirt.
The Panthers, unfortunately for Nike, play in North Carolina–in Charlotte.
A reader of the “Scott Says” blog purchased the t-shirt online and received it in the mail. He confirmed the purchase to Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer.
Nike has since taken the shirt off of its website.
