Packers to Put Heaters on Top of Beer Towers

Sunday’s NFC Wildcard game between the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers at Green Bay is expected to be one of the coldest games in NFL history, and the Packers will accommodate their fans by installing hundreds of heaters on beer towers to ensure that the adult beverages at Lambeau Field do not freeze.

According to NBC26 in Green Bay, beer has frozen in some previous games at Lambeau Field, and the Packers are trying to ensure that that will not happen in a playoff game. Packers fans in the past have put beer on grills in the parking lot of the stadium.

The Midwest is bracing for deadly cold temperatures, and a wind chill effect for the Green Bay region goes into effect at around 7 p.m., two hours after the game starts. Temperatures in Green Bay may reach 15 to 30 degrees below zero in the evening with the wind chill factor.
