Billionaire businessman Donald Trump intends to make a run at buying the Buffalo Bills and keeping the team in Buffalo.
“I’m going to give it a heavy shot,” Trump told The Buffalo News on Monday. “I would love to do it, and if I can do it I’m keeping it in Buffalo.”
He also said it made practical sense for him to keep the team in western New York should he purchase it.
“I live in New York, and it’s easier for me to go to Buffalo than any other place,” he said. “Where am I going to move it, some place on the other side of the country, where I have to travel for five hours?”
The NFL owners would have to approve of the purchase, and Trump’s past confrontations with the league as a USFL owner and his casino holdings will be potential hurdles.
