When ranking pizza toppings, pepperoni has to rank near the top. They taste great, and you can move them around to create all kinds of funny images before scarfing them down.

However, recently, a Nazi website arranged some pepperoni’s together to create an image that’s not at all funny.

The Daily Stormer, a Nazi website, declared Papa John’s to be the official Pizza of the alt-right. The picture for the article included a pie with pepperoni formed in the shape of a swastika, and a caption that read: “Papa John: Official pizza of the alt-right?”

The pronouncement came after Papa John’s made a strong, critical statement against the NFL. Saying that the anthem protests had hurt their business, and that league leadership had failed to adequately address the issue.

Papa John’s is less than thrilled with the “honor” bestowed upon them by The Daily Stormer. Papa John’s Senior Director of Public Relations Peter Collins said in a statement, “We condemn racism in all forms and any and all hate groups that support it. “We do not want these individuals or groups to buy our pizza.”

Of course, nowhere in the mainstream news articles about this story, will you find mention of the fact that there’s a difference between Nazi’s and the alt-right. Though, that’s not entirely shocking either.

While NFL anthem protests still continue, they’ve dwindled down considerably in recent weeks. During Week 9, only 15 players protested by either sitting, kneeling, or raising a fist during the anthem.
