A Brazilian woman has now become a world record holder by surfing a monster 68-foot wave.

Surfer Maya Gabeira caught the wave in January during a surfing event in Nazaré, Portugal. But this month Guinness World Records announced that it had determined that Gabeira’s ride met its standards and had set a record, according to CNN.

Video of the wave shows Gabeira’s tiny figure careening down the crest of the wave as the giant white water comes crashing down around her. Yet she emerges from the foam still planted firmly on her board and outracing the grasping water.

The Brazilian now holds the world record for a female surfer. A Brazilian also holds the men’s world record, according to Guinness Records. Surfer Rodrigo Koxa caught an 80-foot wave at Nazaré, in November of 2017.
