According to reports, Nike is preparing to end its association with the NBA’s most outspoken unvaccinated player, Kyrie Irving.

Insiders say that Irving’s newest shoe design coming this fall will likely be his last contract with the sportswear giant, ESPN reports.

ESPN added that Nike neither confirmed nor denied that this new shoe deal would be its last with the Brooklyn Nets star.

Irving has been at the center of the NBA’s group of players who have refused to take the vaccine.

Irving has also criticized Nike and his forthcoming signature shoe design, calling it “trash.”

In July, Irving, 30, blasted the coming release as “trash” and insisted, “I have absolutely nothing to do with them! Nike plans to release it without my okay regardless of what I say, so I apologize in advance to all of my sneakerheads and true supporters of the KAI11 brand.”

Irving made the comment on an Instagram post unveiling the shoe design.

However, Irving later tried to clarify his comments through a statement released by reporter Shams Charania.
