Major Tech Companies Agree to Follow Joe Biden’s Rules for AI

Major tech companies including Amazon, Google, Facebook (now known as Meta), Microsoft, and ChatGPT developer OpenAI have agreed to adhere to a set of AI safeguards brokered by the Biden administration. One expert commented, “History would indicate that many tech companies do not actually walk the walk on a voluntary pledge to act responsibly and support strong regulations.”

Jim Jordan Threatens Contempt Citation Against Facebook’s Zuckerberg

Monday, during an appearance on FNC’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, warned that Facebook head Mark Zuckerberg could face a contempt of Congress citation if he was not forthcoming with information about Zuckerberg’s Meta and the any cooperation with the U.S. government to censor protected speech.

Report: Ukraine Intelligence Coordinated with FBI to Censor Americans on Social Media

A new report from the House Judiciary Committee indicates that an effort against “Russian disinformation” on social media platforms, spearheaded by the FBI and Ukrainian intelligence officials, resulted in the censorship of Americans’ accounts. In one case, the FBI and Ukrainian intelligence effort flagged  an account run by the U.S. State Department for censorship, but it was ultimately not taken down.
