Ethiopia Confirms Outbreak of Lethal Marburg Virus

The Africa Centers for Disease Control (Africa CDC) and World Health Organization (W.H.O.) on Friday confirmed an outbreak in Ethiopia of the lethal Marburg virus, a pathogen with symptoms similar to the infamous Ebola virus, but even more deadly and difficult to treat.

U.N. Staffer Brings Coronavirus to South Sudan

South Sudan’s first confirmed case of coronavirus infection was identified on Sunday as a 29-year-old Dutch woman who works for the United Nations. Local and U.N. officials said they were attempting to track down everyone she came in contact with during her five weeks in the country.
