Texas State Rep Requests Authority for Election Judges To Be Armed

A Texas state representative requested an opinion from the state’s attorney general as to whether an election judge may carry a concealed handgun at the polling place during the voting process. State law prohibits the carrying of a handgun, or other weapons, on the premises of a polling location while voting is in process. Another state law provides conflicting information.

Texas Democrats Apologize for Falsely Blaming Texas Tech Shooting on Campus Carry

The Texas Democratic Party deleted a tweet and apologized for rushing to judgment in their message linking the murder of the Texas Tech University Police officer to the state’s campus carry law. The law allows the holder of a Texas License to Carry to conceal a weapon on some colleges and universities. The Texas Tech student who allegedly killed the police officer is not old enough to have a handgun or a license.

Concealed Carry Holder Stopped ‘Bad Guy’ with Gun, Say Texas Police

Arlington, Texas, Police Department officials (APD) confirmed to Breitbart Texas that the now deceased shooter in Wednesday night’s attack on a sports bar/restaurant was prevented from doing “significant harm causing significant loss of life” by a man with a license to carry a concealed handgun. The gunman entered the restaurant with two “fully loaded handguns” and two knives, according to police.

Texas Closer to Reducing Handgun License Fees

Texas is one step closer to reducing fees charged to citizens wanting a license to carry a handgun. A bill previously passed by the Texas Senate cleared final reading in the House on Wednesday.
