An employee at a Pita Pit in Missoula, Montana, has been fired after a viral Facebook video caught her spitting in a customer’s food order.

The video, which a customer uploaded to Facebook early Saturday morning, shows the employee spitting in a customer’s pita after getting into an altercation with a customer.

“Do you want me to?” the employee asks after being egged on by the customer.

“I fucking hear you,” a customer shouts before the employee lifts up the pita pocket and appears to spit in the customer’s order she was in the process of preparing.

The situation escalated when the customer threw the pita at the employee before the employee tried to climb onto the counter and throw the food back at her.

“Fucking bitch!” the customer yelled.

“Yeah, come at me,” the employee said, encouraging the customer to fight her.

“You’re a fucking bitch!” the customer responded, only to hear the employee yell back: “Yeah, because it’s three o’ clock in the fucking morning, and I wanna go home!”

It is unclear what started the altercation, but the customer who uploaded the video claims the confrontation began when “this racist [employee] spit in our food because apparently ‘she was having a bad day and didn’t wanna be at work!’”

The video has been viewed more than 300,000 times and has brought a lot of negative press to the Missoula fast food joint.

The owners addressed the incident on their Facebook page Saturday, publicly apologizing to their customers for what happened.

“We are shocked and saddened by the early morning incident that took place in our restaurant,” the post read.

The restaurant also addressed the customer who posted the video, telling her that the restaurant wishes they could “take back what happened.”

In one instance, a fast food worker of another restaurant, who allegedly smeared bodily fluids all over a customer’s food, received criminal penalties.

In 2017, a Mississippi fast food worker allegedly smeared menstrual blood over a customer’s cheeseburger and was charged with “knowingly selling unwholesome food and drink” — a penalty that carries up to five years in prison under Mississippi law.
