Obama Campaign Clothing Line Cleared $40M

Remember those idiotic Barack Obama t-shirts and hoodies from his election campaign website? Turns out they weren’t so dumb after all. According to campaign manager Jim Messina, the campaign raked in some $40 million from all that Obama paraphernalia. The line was created by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who also got celebrities including Beyonce to contribute their expertise to the Obama clothing store. She even organized a fashion show in New York for the line.

Republicans made fun of the store during the campaign. But, as it turns out, the Democrats are far more adept at marketing than the Republicans. And Democrats are also far more likely to buy worshipful pieces of clothing and wear them without any sense of shame.
