Charlie Crist Uninvited from GOP Rep's Funeral

Many members of Congress will travel to Florida Thursday, to attend the funeral of Rep. Bill Young, the longest serving GOP member in the House. One person who won’t be attending is former GOP Governor Charlie Crist. Young’s widow asked the former Republican to not attend the funeral.

“This e-mail is to officially advise you that your presence at my husband’s memorial services will be unacceptable,” Mrs. Young wrote in an email. “I have watched over the years, as Bill had, your transparent attempts to manipulate the political arena. I don’t want my husband’s memorial service to be another opportunity for that and I will not tolerate anyone turning this into a platform for political gain. Please honor my families request.”

Crist won the Governor’s mansion as a Republican. After certain defeat in the GOP Senate primary in 2010, Crist became an Independent. He has flirted with another run for Governor as a Democrat. He is simply a man without a country.

And now, he is blocked from attending a funeral. There is a Sinclair Lewis novel in this.
