TMZ Ambushes Marco Rubio on Capitol Hill

Marco Rubio returned to Capitol Hill yesterday to vote on North Korea sanctions, but he may have been surprised to find a TMZ cameraman waiting for him in the Senate halls as he exited the Capitol building.

Rubio was asked what he was doing to inspire himself in future primaries after coming in fifth place in New Hampshire.

“I’m just telling you its like when I played in football,” Rubio said, referring to his time playing as a college cornerback. “You’re going to give up some touchdowns, but you still get back on the field and play again. The next play you may actually pick it off and bring it back to even the score, so I feel good about everything.”

Rubio said that it was good to have moments of crisis in campaigns, because it tests the candidates.

“You want a president that has been tested by adversity, that’s why this campaign is so important,” he said. “And by the way, running for president is a lot easier than being president.”

When asked if Rubio had some advice for Cam Newton — the losing quarterback of the Super Bowl, Rubio replied, “Oh, Cam’s going to be in a bunch of Super Bowls, I mean he’s got a huge future ahead of him. He’s gonna be better after this Super Bowl, he’s gonna learn from it.”

It’s not the first time that TMZ has caught Rubio in Washington D.C.

In July 2015, he was questioned at Reagan National Airport about Tom Brady and his reaction to the successful kill of Cecil the Lion. In January, he was also asked about Chris Christie’s love of the Dallas Cowboys.
