Hayes: Historically Senate Dems Run 5 Points within Obama's Approval Rating

Friday on Fox News Channel’s, “Special Report,” The Weekly Standard’s Stephen Hayes pointed to a Real Clear Politics study that showed historically the vast majority of Senate candidates for the Democratic Party during President Obama’s tenure have ended up within five points of the president’s approval rating which is now in the low 30s.

Hayes said, “Real Clear Politics and did an analysis of competitive senate races going back to 2010 and 2012. In 23 of 31 competitive senate races the democrats ran within 5% of Barack Obama’s approval ratings, within five points.” In not one of those races did a democrat run better than ten points of Barack Obama’s approval rating. So you can see if you’re talking about races where the president is in the 30s and that history holds true, they’re all going to lose.  So none of the democrats want to be associated with President Obama.”
