Trump: Tweet About Cruz’s Wife Something I ‘Could Have Done Without,’ ‘Would Have Been Simpler’

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated that his retweeting an unflattering picture of fellow candidate Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s wife Heidi was something he “could have done without” and “It would have been simpler” without it on Monday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.

Trump said, [relevant remarks begin around 4:05] “Well, I think I really said, hey, I could have done without it, And it’s true, and I wish I didn’t send it out. It would have been simpler. It was done as a little bit of retaliation, but in the end it’s so, you know, it’s just something — if I had it to do it again I would not have done it.”
