Trump: Hillary ‘Was Petrified’ at Debate to Talk About Police in a Positive Way

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” host Bill O’Reilly pressed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on as to why he didn’t press his opponent Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton at the debate two nights earlier on law enforcement and in particular the incident in Charlotte that led to the violent protests a week earlier.

Trump blamed the lack of time during the debate to offer a rebuttal and take on Clinton on the issue of law enforcement. But he also said Clinton “was petrified” to offer any positive remarks about the police.

“It’s called answer in 30 seconds,” he explained. “But I thought her answer having to do with the police was very, very disrespectful to the police. She was petrified to talk about them in a positive way. And I thought frankly that was a disgrace … I thought it was a very disrespectful answer to the police. There’s no question about it. But I, you can only say so much in 22 seconds.”
