HHS’s Giroir: We’ll ‘Fully Supply’ States to Meet Testing Capacity Goal of at Least 2% Per Month

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” HHS Assistant Secretary for Health Adm. Brett Giroir stated that the federal government will “fully supply” state supply chains to allow them to meet the testing capacity goal of at least 2% of individuals per month.

Giroir said, “Every state really has their own individual circumstance depending on how many cases they have. But what we talked about earlier is, we believe that every state should at least have the capacity, that means the swabs, the media, the testing, the drive-thru sites, to test at least 2% of their individuals per month. … We’re talking about 2% per month. And we’re going to enable the states to do that. Many states want 3%, 4%, 6%. And what I’m happy to say is, as we move into this next [stage], we are able to fully supply their supply chains in order to allow them to do that.”
