Chris Rock to Push Obama's Gun Control Measures to Congress

Chris Rock, one of the country’s foremost authorities on not just guns but the root causes of gun violence who starred in Lethal Weapon 4, is heading to D.C. this week to support President Barack Obama’s new gun control agenda.

It’s all part of the ongoing Demand a Plan program using gun control-friendly celebrities to push the president’s gun restrictions.

Rock, along with singer Tony Bennett, actress Amanda Peet, actor Adam Scott and actress Anna Deavere Smith will join a coalition featuring Rep. Mike Thompson, D-Calif., Mayors Against Illegal Guns and the Law Center to Prevent Violence at a press conference in the U.S. Capitol. The group is aligned with the website DemandAPlan.org, which, according to its website, pushes to “require a criminal background check for every gun sold in America,” “ban assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines” and “make gun trafficking a federal crime.”
