Left-wing rocker Neil Young and his wife, actress and environmentalist Daryl Hannah, stumped for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in the campaign’s “first-ever digital town rally,” urging viewers to go out and vote for “President Bernie Sanders.”

The Sanders campaign, amid growing concerns over the Chinese coronavirus, held its first-ever digital rally featuring high profile guests, including the Canadian-born rocker and his wife.

“And now it gives me great pleasure to introduce singer, songwriter, and activist, the one and only Neil Young as well as the actress and environmentalist, the amazing Daryl Hannah,” campaign co-chair Nina Turner announced from what appeared to be a different location.

With a guitar in hand and mounted harmonica, Young performed “Heart of Gold” in front of a fireplace.

“We are here for you Bernie. We support you 100%,” the “Harvest Moon” singer said as his wife joined him in front of the fireplace.

“Thank you or your compassion and your vision and your consistency and your leadership,” the Steel Magnolias actress said, urging people to vote on Tuesday.

“And your focus and the soul of what you’re behind is so great,” Young added, sending “lots of love” to viewers.

“And for all you families out there in your own homes watching this and hanging out with us, lots of love. We’re with you. We really are with you,” he said.

“Don’t forget to vote,” Hannah said as Young added, “for president Bernie Sanders.”

“Let me say special words of thanks to Neil Young and Daryl Hannah,” Sanders said during his appearance, describing the rocker as “clearly one of the most outstanding musicians in the entire world.”

“We thank him so much for his longtime support for our campaign and for his contributions to the progressive movement. I say the same for Daryl, who has also been a strong progressive for so many years,” he added.

Sanders’ digital rally also featured performances from My Morning Jacket’s Jim James and the band Free Nationals.

The digital rally comes as the presidential hopefuls make unprecedented changes to their campaigns amid the growing coronavirus pandemic.

Joe Biden (D) held a virtual town hall last week that garnered negative attention over the unmissable technical difficulties.
