Norwegian Military Places Soldiers on Vegetarian Diet to 'Combat Climate Change'

The Norwegian military is placing soldiers on a “strict vegetarian diet once a week” to “combat climate change.”

According to Fox News, the Norwegian military believes such a diet will help the planet by “cutting the consumption of ecologically unfriendly foods.” Norwegian military spokesman Eystein Kvarving says “the idea is to serve food that’s respectful of the environment.”

Meat appears to most environmentally disrespectful food that soldiers could eat, thus “experts” overseeing the Norwegian military diet are thrilled that the vegetarian plan “will reduce the…military’s meat consumption by 150 tons a year.”

Norwegian environmental group The Future in Our Hands (FOH) is pleased with the new diet: “The defense ministry deserves a lot of praise, because it’s taking climate and environmental issues seriously.”
