WASHINGTON, Aug. 11 (UPI) — Tuesday marks the first year anniversary of actor and comedian Robin William’s death. Millions are taking to social media to remember the great entertainer.

Williams died at age 63 on April 11, 2014 after taking his own life in his California home. His death was confirmed a suicide in November by a Marin County coroner’s report.

Millions of Williams’ admirers have already posted heartfelt tributes to the Boulevard star as his would-be 64th birthday passed in late July. Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar led the way for Tuesday’s tributes with a Ralph Waldo Emerson quote alongside a photo of the famous Good Will Hunting bench on which Williams and a young Matt Damon sat for the film. She tagged Williams’ name after dedicating the quote to her The Crazy Ones co-star.

‘To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better wether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded’…You succeeded RW

The late actor’s daughter, Zelda Williams, 26, asked her followers for respect in the wake of both her father’s birthday and anniversary of death before taking a hiatus from social media

“It’s a time better served away from the opinions or sentiments of others, and I appreciate your understanding,” she wrote before asking followers to be respectful to each other, “both because I will not be here to delete or mediate trolling, and because kindness is in short supply these days anyhow.”

Williams’ son, Zak, recently revealed to People that he and his family are still “moving through the process of healing and recovering.”

“We try to focus on the joyful moments and memories,” he said. Zak, 32, is reportedly honoring his father by teaching financial literacy to inmates at a local prison alongside another inmate, nicknamed Wall Street.

“As I go through the process of healing, working with inmates and focusing on the Financial Literacy Initiative and criminal justice reform has been healing for me,” he told the magazine.

Williams’ third wife, Susan Scheider has butt heads with her former step-children in recent months as the actor’s estate is still being disputed. Schneider is petitioning for more than what was originally allotted to her by Williams and has brought it to court, leaving Williams’ other survivors “heartbroken.”

The Jumanji star reportedly set up a will naming his three children Zak, Zelda and Cody the sole beneficiaries of his entire estate, with only a few exceptions.
