Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is golfing with real estate mogul, reality TV star, conservative political provocateur, and billionaire Donald Trump on Saturday at Trump International in Palm Beach, Florida. The course is one of the highest-rated in the world and regularly hosts professional tournaments, including the LPGA Championship.
Concerning the outing, Paul jokingly told Breitbart News, “I am looking forward to it, but I had to insist no betting.”
“Will be both interesting and fun!” Trump added.
This is the first time the two leaders have met, a Paul aide told Breitbart News, with Trump requesting the meeting. The Senator’s aide added that Paul plans on chatting with Trump about helping out with his charity work as a doctor, asking him to help fund a missionary trip to Guatemala this coming summer where Paul will perform pro bono eye surgeries.
Both Trump and Paul will be speaking at the 50th anniversary of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), hosted by the American Conservative Union (ACU) from next Thursday through Saturday. Each has also flirted with the idea of running for president in 2016, and they both have widespread support among grassroots conservatives.
