Protester Runs onto Court with Lit Flare, Interrupts French Open

A masked protester with a lit flare ran onto the court at the French Open on Sunday and interrupted the Final between Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer.

Security tackled the protester and had to put out a fire. Another man was seen being tackled as he tried to run onto the court, but he never made it as far as the protester who was able to light his flare and wildly wave it above his head just a few feet from Nadal, who was spooked, as any tennis player would be after a deranged fan ran onto the court to stab Monica Seles.

Nadal was serving the set at 5-2 and eventually lost the game before rebounding to win the second set.

At the time of this writing, Nadal is up two sets to none and leads Ferrer 2-0 in the third set as he tries to become the first male tennis player to win a single major tournament eight times.
