Report: Patriots to Sign Tim Tebow

The New England Patriots will reportedly sign Tim Tebow.

According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the Patriots will sign Tebow and he will be at the team’s minicamp on Tuesday.

The move is surprising because Mike Silver of Yahoo! Sports had reported there was “no chance” the Patriots would sign Tebow because Patriots head coach Bill Belichick reportedly hated Tebow. Belichick later denied those charges.

Josh McDaniels, who drafted Tebow when he was Denver’s head coach, is the Patriots offensive coordinator. In addition, Belichick has ties to Tebow’s college coach Urban Meyer.

Many suspected Tebow, after he was cut from the Jets roster, would not find a home in the NFL because teams did not like the frenzy of some of his supporters who are drawn to him because of his public embrace of his Christian faith.

The unconventional Belichick could potentially find many different uses for Tebow if he makes the team.
