Thug Discount: DeSean Jackson Agrees to Terms with Redskins

The Philadelphia Eagles engaged in conscious uncoupling with DeSean Jackson on Friday. But the speedy receiver has ensured that the pair reunite at least twice this coming season.

DeSean Jackson agreed to terms with the Washington Redskins on a three-year deal on Tuesday night. He is expected to sign the contract on Wednesday. “ITS GOIN DOWN !! BURGUNDY & GOLD,” Jackson tweeted on Tuesday. Monetary terms were not immediately available. The receiver stood to make $10.4 million in 2014 before the Eagles released him over concerns about his attitude and off-field associates.

Jackson’s arrival in Washington gives Robert Griffin III a deep-ball threat that he has been lacking and offensive-minded head coach Jay Gruden a playmaker to make plays around. Jackson caught 82 balls for 1,332 yards last season and boasts 21 touchdowns of 30 yards or more over his six-year NFL career.

UPDATE: Multiple reports put Jackson’s contract for $8 million a year for three seasons with $16 million guaranteed. This puts his earnings significantly less than his contract with the Eagles at about $50 million over five seasons.
