Natalie Weiner, a writer for SBNation, was proud to announce that she had screamed at a man wearing a MAGA hat at a jazz festival.

Though, it wasn’t long before Twitter turned against her over the incident.

It appears Weiner was attending the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival over the weekend when she saw a man wearing a MAGA hat.

“Just yelled at a prick with the audacity to wear a fucking make America great again hat in the middle of a jazz festival,” Weiner proudly wrote on April 28.

“I don’t understand how people can be so hateful I really don’t,” she said adding, “he was walking to see Irma Thomas and he doesn’t deserve to be within a 10 mile radius of Irma Thomas.”

Criticism of Weiner’s tweets soon far outweighed the few likes her post earned.

Likely to her surprise, it wasn’t long, before Twitter users turned on Weiner en masse and she quickly switched her account to “protected” status so that most people could no longer see her tweets.

Some of the replies that were posted before the writer locked her account down include:

“There’s definitely a problem here. It isn’t with the guy wearing a hat.”

“‘Sports journalists’ are the new vanguard of the SJW asshattery.”

“So you were the concert police, who can’t seem to have control over yourself when seeing an article of clothing? Now I know why people like you are for control over everything.”

“Newsflash, not everyone is like you. Thank the Lord for that.”

“I hope you explained to him that jazz concerts are safe spaces, free from the pesky First Amendment.”

“Tolerance at its finest I see.”
