Fort Worth ISD Transgender Policies Violate State Law, Says Texas Attorney General

The transgender student guidelines adopted in April by the Fort Worth Independent School District violate state law, according to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. He rendered an opinion late Tuesday in response to Lt. Governor Dan Patrick’s inquiry whether the school district’s transgender student guidelines violated the state’s education code by keeping “student information from parents.”

School Superintendent Should Not Be ‘Social Engineer,’ Says Texas Lt. Gov.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick spoke to media in Fort Worth Tuesday about parental rights, local control, the role of the school, and the job of the superintendent. On Monday Patrick called for the resignation of the Fort Worth Independent School District superintendent that unilaterally adopted transgender bathroom guidelines without public input.

Texas Governor Calls for Statewide ‘Stand with Law Enforcement’

Texas Governor Greg Abbott called for police officers across the state of Texas to honor the funeral of slain Harris County Deputy Sheriff Darren Goforth on Friday.
