FS1’s Sharpe on Pence’s ‘Staged’ Walk-Out: ‘I Thought He Was the Sane One in the White House’

Fox Sports 1’s Shannon Sharpe said Monday that Vice President Mike Pence walking out on the San Francisco 49ers-Indianapolis Colts game after players knelt for the national anthem was “staged” and a “mockery of the presidency.”

“We can agree that it was staged,” Sharpe said on “Undisputed.” “It was so horribly done that first-graders could have done a better job of pretending than what he did.”

“He went there with the sole purpose of leaving because he knew there would be some players from the 49ers that would kneel. So, he left Vegas, came to Indy to walk out after 30 minutes to fly back to L.A., but that’s not his money, that’s our money,” he explained. “I’m done with that. He was a phony and I thought he was the sane one in the White House, but what they’re turning this into is a mockery of the presidency.”
