The Sunday Times, a British paper, posted a vile and demented cartoon that accuses Benjamin Netanyahu, prime minister of Israel, of building a wall “cementing peace” using the blood of Palestinians, thus perpetuating the centuries-old “blood libel” that has been cast against Jews.
The image depicts a hunchbacked Netanyahu building a cement wall dripping with the blood of Palestinians and various Palestinians’ heads cemented into the wall while they writhe in agony.
The caption below reads “Will cementing peace continue?”
It is noteworthy that the blood libel against Jews, which incredibly claimed that Jews used the blood of Christians to bake their matzos for Passover, originated in Norwich, England in 1144. This was followed by England forcing the Jews to wear special badges in 1216, forcing Jews to attend conversion sermons in 1278, and being the first European country to expel their Jewish populations in 1290.
The cartoon was on the beginning of Holocaust Remembrance Day.
