Ed Asner: Hollywood Not Criticizing Obama On Syria Because He's 'Black'

If you are wondering where anti-war Hollywood has been as Obama proves he's not Bush, but only by rushing into a Middle East war with no international coalition and United Nations backing, Ed Asner has the explanation: "A lot of people don't want to feel anti-black by being opposed to Obama," Asner explained to the Hollywood Reporter. CNN, CBS News, ABC News Honchos Have Obama Administration Family Ties

What is especially interesting is that three of the White House officials listed here, who are related in some way to mainstream media big shots, have ties to the Benghazi scandal. Tom Nides is at State, Ben Rhoades was part of the talking point debacle, and Jay Carney spent over a week repeatedly making false claims about terrorists being behind the September 11th anniversary attack on our diplomatic outpost. Black Unemployment Leaps to 13%

While there was all kinds of bad news for everyone in the August employment and jobs numbers released Friday, the news was especially bad for black Americans. Out of every group listed in the Bureau of Labor Statistics report report (age, gender, race, etc.) the unemployment rate among blacks increased the most; almost a full half-point, from 12.6% to 13%. Obama Dismisses UN Process as 'Hocus Pocus'

One interesting moment in what was largely seen as a weak press conference for President Obama Friday, was this moment where the president referred to the process of securing resolutions from the United Nations as "hocus pocus." Sep 6, 2013 10:16 AM PT

'Sons of Anarchy' Season 5 Review: Wow. What a Payoff

Though incredibly addicting as always (I tore through all 13 episodes in three sittings), after just a few hours into the fifth season of creator Kurt Sutter's "Sons of Anarchy," I was starting to become annoyed. Although you expect all kinds of violence and sex in the ongoing tales of a gun and drug-running motorcycle club (MC), it was starting to feel nihilistic, pointless, and over-the top. Instead of being a character drama driven by an over-arching theme, the story felt driven instead by overstuffed plotting that was more chaotic than richly complicated. Sep 6, 2013 9:32 AM PT

Morsi Backers Terrorize Christians in Egyptian Town

While the United Nations worries about a local shooting in Florida, in Egypt, a group of Islamists who back their nation's ousted leader, fellow Islamist Mohammed Morsi, have taken over the town of Dalga where 20,000 Christians now live under oppression, fear, and violence. Already, a 1600 year old monastery has been burned and looted, 40 Christian homes and businesses have been attacked (looted and burned), including the home of an 80 year-old priest. Three-Month Job Creation Average Collapses Compared to Last Year

The Washington Post has apparently woken up to the fact that President Obama's economy -- at least as its related to job creation -- has been a mirage. After noting that the August unemployment rate dropped only because 312,000 people dropped out of the labor market, the Post reports that the three-month average of the number of jobs created has dropped by nearly 40,000 over this same time last year. Labor Force Rate Hits Carter-Era Low

Even with job creation expectations lowered to an unserious 180,000, the Obama Recovery was unable to deliver. With only a measly 180,000 jobs expected in August, an even measlier 169,000 jobs were created. What is worse, though, is that the Labor Force Participation Rate (LFP) continues to artificially lower our nation's unemployment rate, which fell to 7.3%. Unfortunately, this happened only because the LFP fell to its lowest level since 1978. Sep 6, 2013 6:16 AM PT

Rush Limbaugh Authors Historical Children's Book

Talk radio titan Rush Limbaugh will probably consider his upcoming children's book a success once he learns that the very idea of him doing such a thing has already made a CNN anchor "sick." But based on his previous history as a best-selling author, upon its release October29, there is little doubt even more success is on its way. Sep 5, 2013 12:59 PM PT

CNN's Carol Costello 'Sick' Over News of Limbaugh's Children's Book

Thursday, CNN's Carol Costello, the cable news network's morning weekday anchor, wasted no time in tweeting her apparent disgust after learning that conservative talk radio titan Rush Limbaugh plans to write a children's book. "I'm a little sick now," she tweeted. Sep 5, 2013 12:35 PM PT

Pentagon Walks Back Hagel's Claim Russia Supplied Chemical Weapons to Syria

In a day filled with setbacks for an administration desperate to save a president's "redline" credibility, Thursday the Pentagon delivered another when it was forced to clarify Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel's bizarre statement before Congress Wednesday that Russia supplies Syria with chemical weapons. United Nations Demands Answers from Obama Admin on George Zimmerman

In an article published this week at UN News Centre, Mutuma Ruteere, a "special reporter on racism," wrote that a group of UN experts is calling on the Obama administration to finish a review that will decide whether or not George Zimmerman will face federal civil rights charges for the 2012 shooting death of teenager Trayvon Martin. Syria: Pelosi Sends Second Letter of Appeal to Dems

NBC's Chris Matthews believes Democrats will have to "sacrifice men and women who really, really don’t want to vote for this" in order to "save the president's hide" when it comes to President Obama's face-saving push for the Congressional approval to go to war with Syria. First Read reports that the left is Obama's only hope in Congress. And now House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has had to send a second letter of appeal to her caucus in just three days.
