Nearly 2-in-3 Americans say that masks should be mandatory in public during the coronavirus crisis, according to a Yahoo News/YouGov poll—conducted June 24-25 and released on Friday evening—that found 65 percent of Americans believe that “masks should be required in public places.”

Eight-in-ten Americans believe “it is necessary” for people to wear masks when leaving their homes during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a Washington Post/University of Maryland poll released this week.

Protective masks, normally used for surgery, are now in use to fight the Corona Virus SARS-nCov-19.
