TELEGRAPH: Director of ‘Vote Leave’ To Quit Establishment Brexit Group

Vote Leave

From The Telegraph:

Internal squabbling is rocking one of the leading campaigns calling for Brexit, as one director reveals he is planning to quit in protest.

The Vote Leave board member, who is also an MP, has said he would hand in his resignation “within days” as a result of the squabbles.

It comes as senior Conservative MPs are reportedly seeking to oust Dominic Cummings, Vote Leave’s campaign director.

An attempted coup was successfully fought off by Mr Cummings and Matthew Elliott, Vote Leave’s chief executive, after a bid from by the Tory MP Bernard Jenkin at a meeting of the group’s board on Tuesday.

It came amid pressure from Arron Banks, the millionaire who is bankrolling the Leave.EU campaign, for the two to merge.

Mr Cummings has reportedly refused to join forces.
