Louie Gohmert Talks Up Hannity Run in Texas

Representative Louie Gohmert says bringing Sean Hannity to the State of the Union could give the Fox News host a preview of what life might be like after he runs for office in Texas.

“Inviting Sean Hannity first of all was part of my ongoing effort to encourage him to become a resident of Texas where he’d be so much more appreciated,” Gohmert told Breitbart News in an exclusive statement.

Secondly, Gohmert said, “when you are about to enjoy something as pleasurable as listening to this President give a State of the Union address, you just want to share the experience with a dear friend like Sean. Of course, with all the talk about his running for Congress, Sean might just be able to check out the lay of the land.”

Hannity is eyeing political office in Texas after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said conservatives aren’t welcome in his state.

The remarks have snowballed into a major controversy, with Hannity vowing to leave New York City, prompting a bidding war between Republican governors to persuade him to move to their states. At the March for Life Tuesday, one participant pushed back at Cuomo, telling Breitbart News, “We’re here, we’re pro-life, get used to it.”

Yesterday New York City mayor emphatically backed Cuomo “100 percent.”
