ESPN Fires 'Cornball Brother' Commentator

On Tuesday, ESPN fired Rob Parker, the commentator who referred to black Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III as a “cornball brother” because he had a white fiance and may be a Republican. ESPN had initially suspended Parker for a month after those comments.

Last weekend, Parker, who is black, made more inflammatory comments in an interview with a Detroit television station when he suggested Griffin “pushes away” from his “people,” but Parker continued to deny he was questioning Griffin’s “blackness.”

Parker was set to return to the air later this month.
