Fox News anchor Bret Baier said his network covered the Manti Te’o fake girlfriend hoax because sports impacts culture.
Baier, the host of Fox News’ “Special Report” news program, joined Breitbart News editor Larry O’Connor and Brian Wilson on WMAL’s “Mornings on the Mall” on Friday in Washington, D.C. The hosts asked him about the time he devoted to the Te’o case on his program.
“It affects culture in America,” Baier said. “You can’t turn a blind eye to something that is happening.”
Baier said there was debate in Fox News’ editorial meetings about whether to cover the case and how much time to devote to it.
“When we came to it at the end, We said everyone is talking about it,” Baier said
