“Medical providers like Planned Parenthood are mandatory reporters of sex abuse and criminal sexual harassment in all 50 states,” according to Aden. “The certification requirement is simply an attempt to ensure that Title X providers – to be eligible as grantees – simply follow the law. If Planned Parenthood or any other Title X providers are not willing to follow the law, they’re not eligible for funding under this rule.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said in an interview that President Donald Trump’s decision to prevent Title X family planning funding from going to abortion providers could prevent women from getting an education or having a career.

“When I ran for office, I pledged to stand for life,” he said. “As president, that’s exactly what I’ve done. I have kept my promise.”

Former Planned Parenthood Federation of America president Cecile Richards said on Friday that President Donald Trump’s proposed rule to cut Title X family planning funding from organizations that provide abortions would prevent women from knowing that abortion is legal and available in the United States.

“It’s a shame that the federal Title X family planning program has been co-mingled with abortion ever since President Bill Clinton issued regulations not only removing the wall of separation President Reagan issued, but even requiring groups to refer for abortion,” said Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council.

Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration Wednesday over new requirements for groups seeking to receive Title X family planning grants.

Some 200 members of Congress and 100 national and state pro-life organizations have joined together to urge the Trump administration to revise Title X family planning funding rules in order to ban abortion providers like Planned Parenthood from receiving the funds.
