China: Embrace Lockdowns ‘Even More Firmly’ in Latest Coronavirus Outbreak

The Chinese government’s established “Zero-COVID” strategy to combat transmission of the Chinese coronavirus — which centers largely upon state-imposed lockdowns — must be adhered to “even more firmly” now that China is facing its worst outbreak of the disease in two years, China’s state-run Global Times argued in an op-ed published Wednesday.

Controversy erupted over the U.S. Air Force dad who questioned a North Texas school district’s dress code. Nasty Facebook posts, a protest to defend the school district’s patriotic honor, and pronouncements of police protection dispatched district-wide for alleged death threats all came because an Iraq war veteran questioned something in the policy.


NJ 5th Grader Suspended for Having Nerf Gun ‘Bullet’ in His Pocket

On May 8, Atlantic City, New Jersey, 5th grader Aarin Moody reached into his pocket to retrieve a “late note” from his mother and a Nerf gun foam “bullet” fell out. Officials at the Atlantic City School District categorized the toy bullet as a “self-constructed weapon” because “it had a toothpick stuck in it.”
