North Korea Says Tokyo First Target in the Event of War

Under growing international attention, North Korea says that, in the event of war, Tokyo will be its first target. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) made the declaration in response to Japan’s announcement that it will shoot down any missile fired at it by North Korea.

In response to this announcement, North Korea said: “Japan is always in the cross-hairs of our revolutionary army and if Japan makes a slightest move, the spark of our war will touch Japan first.”

Through KCNA, North Korean leaders described Japan’s pledge to shoot down a missile as “provocative” and said Tokyo would be “consumed in nuclear flames” if it happens.

Although Sec. of State John Kerry says, “the U.S., South Korea, and the entire international community” are united to see that North Korea does not become a nuclear power, North Korean officials say they are “confident of final victory.”
