Iranian Media: Mike Pompeo Will Bring ‘Very Reckless, Violent’ Foreign Policy to State Department

A former CIA whistleblower who allegedly exposed the “deep state” and used to work as a fellow at the Heritage Foundation told Iran’s state-run Press TV Tuesday that the State Department will become “very reckless” and “violent” as a result of President Donald Trump’s decision to appoint CIA Director Mike Pompeo as America’s new secretary of state.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s seemingly sudden dismissal by President Donald Trump comes after a year of constant stories about his impending departure. He had a number of significant policy and messaging disputes with the president, and every one of them was followed by a chorus of unnamed administration sources telling reporters that Tillerson’s ouster was imminent.
