Authorities took an Ohio man into custody after he allegedly threatened to kill President Trump and asked his mother to help carry out his plot, according to several reports.

Lee Gecsey, 46, allegedly threatened to kill others, including police officers who showed up at his house in the Mount Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati Sunday to arrest him, Cleveland.com reports.

He reportedly barricaded himself inside his residence, prompting a SWAT team to remove him from his abode.

Gecsey called his mother multiple times to tell her his plan “to kill the President of the United States.” He told her, “God was telling me to do it,” according to a police report of the incident that WXIX obtained.

The report added that Gecsey attempted to solicit help from his mother because he was not sure if he could carry out the task himself.

Gecsey appeared at an arraignment hearing Tuesday, where a judge charged him with inducing panic. He is being held on $10,000 bond and is expected to appear in court again Friday for a pretrial hearing.

Breitbart News reached out to the U.S. Secret Service for comment but did not receive a response by press time. It is unclear whether the agency will open an investigation into Gecsey.
