Out of the cities in the U.S. known for being technology hubs, Austin, Texas has the highest average salary for software developers and engineers, after making adjustments for taxes and differences in the cost of living.
Austin, Texas was the fastest growing large city in the United States during the post-recession era of 2010 to 2013, according to a recent report by the Census Bureau.
The Census report examined the twenty five largest cities in the U.S., and Austin’s growth during this period — 12 percent — outpaced the rest of the country.
Two Texas cities — Austin and Houston — are among the top ten metropolitan areas in the United States that had the highest percentage increases in rental prices last year.
